The driving force for developing new drugs is the synergy that is produced by collaboration. Thus, to achieve our company’s goal of “Creating for Tomorrow,” we are seeking motivated collaborators who are willing to take on the challenge of developing new drugs for autoimmune diseases.

Asahi Kasei Pharma has developed the immunosuppressant Bredinin® for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus nephritis. Last fiscal year, as a new drug for treating rheumatoid arthritis, we also launched the sale of Kevzara®, a fully human monoclonal antibody against the human IL-6 receptor.

To accomplish our organization's central goal of “Creating for Tomorrow” and to generate a steady flow of new drugs for autoimmune diseases, we are currently working in collaboration with a variety of global research institutions both in Japan and overseas. We aim to design therapeutic agents with new mechanisms of action based on our deep understanding of the complex pathophysiology of autoimmune diseases. For this purpose, we need input from leading scientists who are constantly pursuing cutting-edge research. All patients who suffer from autoimmune diseases require effective medications at the earliest possible date. To meet this need, we must have collaborators with common interests and aspirations, and exchange ideas and expertise with them. We must also take on the challenging task of drug discovery research using the synergy generated by this collaboration as the driving force.

To further promote innovative research, we are seeking proposals involving the new drug candidates that you are developing for potential applications in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. We are also looking for new concepts and ideas that challenge existing paradigms in autoimmune disease therapy.
